Terms and Conditions

GENERAL
Any order for goods and /or services accepted by Flatpack Modular Taranaki (“FMT”) is governed by these terms of trade. FMT reserves the right to change or modify its terms and conditions at any time without notice and without incurring obligations. No variation, modification or substitution of these terms will apply unless specifically accepted by the Company in writing.

ORDERS AND PAYMENT

Quotations remain valid for 21 days after the date of the Company's quote but FMT reserve the right to make any price changes to orders unless a deposit has been paid.
Requests for changes to an order or a products design once it has entered production will, if applicable, result in additional charges.
Cancellation will be considered but not necessarily accepted by FMT once goods have begun production. Any agreed cancellation will incur a fee for any production costs already incurred, administration costs and/or freight.
Deposits will be forfeited after 30 days unless this is extended at the sole discretion of FMT.
Due to the current world economic conditions and supply delays, there could be times where a similar alternative is offered.
Payment terms – Cabinetry Only:
- 50% DEPOSIT of the contract price must be paid on acceptance of a quote to initiate production and shall be deemed to be acceptance of our terms.
- REMAINING BALANCE is due before delivery or pick up of any goods.
- Payment may be made by online banking or manual bank deposit.
- Failure by the customer to pay any amount due will entitle FMT to cancel any contracts which they have with the customer.
- Cancellation due to non-payment will incur a fee for any production costs already incurred, administration costs and/or freight.
Payment terms - for all other items required:
- FULL PAYMENT is required on acceptance of a quote to initiate production, order or supply and shall be deemed to be acceptance of our terms.
Payment terms – Additional Services provided by FMT:
- FULL PAYMENT is required on acceptance of a quote to initiate any additional services required by the customer.

INSTRUCTIONS AND MODIFICATIONS

Due to the risk of error or miscommunication, any changes to specification or dimensions, or any other specific instructions relating to your project will only be accepted if in writing (email or letter) prior to start of production.

LEAD TIMES

We endeavor to manufacture and dispatch your order within 20 working days of receiving the initial deposit. Time frames will be arranged during the confirmation process and verified on receipt of the deposit. Time frames are based on standard modular cabinetry.
Non-stocked items will have a lead time indicated on the invoice provided and is based on full payment being received prior to FMT ordering the goods. Dates on orders with non-stocked items that have not been fully paid are indicative only.
Lead times may alter depending on factory workloads, staff illness, material availability etc. FMT endeavour to advise, in advance of any delays, but no consequential claims will be accepted for any reasonable delay in quoted lead-time.

DESIGN AND ASSEMBLY

All orders will be manufactured to the customers selection and dimensions given; therefore, it is the responsibility of the customer to provide the correct measurements and order the correct cabinetry. FMT take no responsibility for incorrect sizing or selections.
It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that orders correlate correctly to any plumbing, gas fitting, electrical or any other building regulations.
If in doubt the client should seek the advice of a builder or other qualified professional.
FMT product specifications are subject to change without notice.
Colours of products in the images may vary slightly from colours of the actual product, due to lighting when the picture was taken and computer monitor colour differences.
No bench tops will be produced without confirmation of measurements in writing or email from either the customer, installer or professional trades person, which could affect lead times. No other forms of communication will be accepted.
All cabinets come fully assembled with the exception of the tall corner cabinets. These are sent as a flatpack due to the size and room required for delivery.
Flatpack option is available for trade accounts only.
Deposits are non-refundable should the customer change their mind.
Deposits will be forfeited after 30 days unless this is extended at the sole discretion of FMT.
We endeavour to resolve but take no responsibility if items from a 3rd party supplier are out of stock or higher priced.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES
Basic draw plan:

The design will be generated based on the customers selection and dimensions given; therefore, it is the responsibility of the customer to provide the correct measurements and the correct cabinetry choices. FMT take no responsibility for incorrect sizing or selections.
It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that the design correlates correctly to any plumbing, gas fitting, electrical or any other building regulations.
It is the responsibility of the customer to check the fit of all appliances before commissioning FMT to generate the design. FMT accept no responsibility for extra costs incurred should this not be done.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that appliance manufacturer’s requirements are complied with. FMT accept no liability for consequential damage caused by incorrect sizing or installation of any appliances.

On site consultation and measure:

Our professional designers will assist in the design process and carry out a full site measure.
It is the responsibility of the customer to provide a comprehensive list of the appliance specifications to ensure they are complied with in the design process.

APPLIANCE CABINETRY

It is the responsibility of the customer to check the fit of all appliances before putting through an order and to make the appropriate adjustments if necessary. We accept no responsibility for extra costs incurred should this not be done.
Please note that it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that appliance manufacturer’s requirements are complied with. We accept no liability for consequential damage caused by incorrect sizing or installation of any appliances.

RETURNS

We do not accept returns due to change of mind, so please choose your items carefully. For example, if a cabinet does not fit your space, or you change your mind about the colour or finish, we are unable to accept returns. If an item is faulty, we will meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act. For extra information, please refer to our Warranty Policy.
